Gardens of Serenity

Hands-on education sessions at local mosques — empowering the community with essential knowledge.
The staff and volunteers at Gardens of Serenity hold education workshops for men, women and young adults at local mosques throughout Scotland.
The purpose is to educate the Muslim ummah on what to do in the event of a loved one passing away at home or in hospital, how to perform the ghusal (final bath) and applying the kafan (shroud).
The ghusal and kafan application is a practical, hands-on exercise.
Each class is attended by the Imam of that particular mosque, so as to answer any religion-based questions that arise during the session.
Hands-on ghusal & kafan training
Our workshops cover the essential knowledge every Muslim should have about end-of-life procedures.
Learn the complete process of ceremonial washing — step by step, with practical demonstration and hands-on practice.
How to properly wrap and apply the burial shroud according to the Sunnah. Practical exercise included in every session.
Step-by-step guidance on what to do when a loved one passes away — at home, in hospital, or unexpectedly.
Understanding the funeral prayer — its significance, how it is performed, and the communal obligation (Fard Kifayah).
From the mosque to the graveyard — understanding the complete burial process and cemetery requirements in Scotland.
Every session includes time for questions with the local Imam — addressing any religious or practical concerns.
If you feel you would like to take part in an education workshop, please contact your local Imam or committee. Arrangements will thereafter be made to hold a class at your mosque.
Alternatively, contact Khurram Mustafa directly to arrange a session.
